La Rosa Wine Circle Masterclass - Sangiovese
The pride of Italy’s Tuscan region, Sangiovese is one of the world’s most exciting and sought-after grape varieties. It is to Italy what Cabernet is to France. Considered a chameleon of winemaking, Sangiovese – or ‘blood of Jupiter’ – embraces terroir perhaps more than any other grape, producing extremely varied but equally stunning wines depending on where and how it’s grown. Most famous as the only component of Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino, and the heart and soul of wines like Chianti, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Morellino di Scansano, this Wine Circle masterclass will showcase some of Italy’s best examples of Sangiovese, as well as exceptional interpretations from Australia’s Hunter Valley and Heathcote regions.
