BUNDA Sydney Heist is an original installation created by two UTS students for BUNDA Fine Jewels, inspired by the famous 2025 Paris museum heist. What began as a shower thought was brought to life that very afternoon, and before we knew it, we’d signed ourselves up for a month-long build. From days of CAD modelling and long nights in the spray booth, to what felt like endless rounds of trial-and-error gluing and wiring tiny lights, the project quickly became a pursuit we couldn’t put down. With every detail demanding just a little more care, our days became a cycle of refining, adjusting, and pushing for that extra touch of refinement.
Beyond the technical challenge, the ‘‘BUNDA Sydney Heist’ poses a broader question about what is truly Precious? With the thieves now targeting BUNDA jewels - the installation poses an enduring question: what gives an object its value? Our answer; Much like the BUNDA philosophy, value lies not in rarity alone but in meaning, beauty, and the story it tells. At the heart of our interpretation of a daring cultural moment, we are reminded that the most precious objects are those crafted with intention, care, and a legacy to be made.
‘BUNDA Sydney Heist’ now on display at the Strand Arcade. Come see what makes a BUNDA jewel truly priceless.
