National Reconciliation Week

27 May - 3 June 2021

National Reconciliation Week begins, and the Strand Arcade is proud to be a part of this important event. This year is a milestone, marking 20 years since Reconciliation Australia was first established and almost three decades of Australia’s formal reconciliation process.

The theme this year is ‘More than a word. Reconciliation takes action’, a sentiment echoed by the Strand Arcade.

Unfortunately, COVID -19 impacted our ability to implement some tenants of our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) – a long-term action plan which aims to increase respect, equality and opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, businesses and communities.

However, at the Strand Arcade we remain focused on progressing our contribution towards a more equitable, just and reconciled Australia. We are proud of our country’s shared history, rich culture, and achievements.
