The Fashion Less Waste Competition has returned for 2012 and the judges include Strand Arcade retailers Akira Isogawa and Louise Olsen of Dinosaur Designs.
Entrants need to design and make an outfit that is mostly made from used non-clothing materials. The competition aims to encourage a more sustainable fashion industry, and to foster an appreciation for the natural world.
This year, entrants are invited to be inspired by creatures from the deep ocean, in conjunction with the Museum's upcoming exhibition Deep Oceans, due to open in June 2012.
The categories are Secondary School and Open. Ten finalists from each category will be chosen to show their entries at a gala catwalk event at the Australian Museum on 26 July. A winner and two runners-up in each category will be chosen and awarded on the night.
Please see the website for further information, and for images and video from previous years of the competition. Entries close 5pm 8 May.
